Behind the Scenes: The location setting for these magnetic wrap sets was truly special. The backdrop is a driftwood plank from a very old ship. Notice the wooden dowels [pegs]? When these historical "ship bits" appeared on the shore, I quickly gathered my props and spent a few days taking pictures while absorbing their mystery. Several days later hurricane Teddy (23 Sept. 2020) hit the shoreline with high winds and pounding surf. The historical planks were washed away and reclaimed by the ancient sea.

Pearls are organic gemstones. Freshwater pearls grow in lakes, rivers and ponds in Japan and the U.S. Mississippi River Basin. More often they are produced by farming, when an irritant is placed inside the mollusk. Pearl formation happens when a foreign body [grain of sand or floating particle,] becomes lodged inside the mollusk. The mollusk [freshwater mussel] forms a sac around the irritant and begins secreting nacre, forming a calcium-carbonate compound called a pearl. Freshwater pearls are organically dyed to produce the "peacock" purple-grey-teal hue. Crystal healers promote freshwater pearls for purifying inner-body energy and clarifying thoughts.
